Bianca Beauchemin’s research explores the interplay of racial classifications, sexuality and gender through the spatial-temporal landscape of the Haitian Revolution. She is investigating the ways in which miscegenation and subsequent mixed race subjectivities are tied to queer sexualities and how the making of contemporary racial/sexual subjects is deeply entwined with modernity, diaspora, and geographic processes.
